Motorola ROKR E8 on Linux (Ubuntu 9.10, Karmic)

To sync your MUSIC (videos, potos): in your phone, go to Main Menu > Settings > Connections > USB Setting and select Memory Card.

Plug your phone to the computer, and it will show up as 2.1gb file-system. Browse and upload/remove music and other media.

To retrieve and backup your contacts and SMS-messages, install Wammu from the Ubuntu software Centre.

Before starting the application, go again to Main Menu > Settings > Connections > USB Setting and now select Modem. Plug your phone into the PC.

X-Factor: The last nail in Pop-Music's coffin

TV shows are bothering me.

I do have a feeling that the whole world becomes more stupid with these shows. You can't avoid them: someone around you is watching them. Be it a friend or family or even the TV displays on the stores. The News talk about them the Newspapers talk about them.

Take the Music Idol (Britain's Got Talent, X-factor) and its varieties throughout the world.

It changed the music scene, it gave new opportunities to singers... But it didn't do any good for musicians, nor to help creativity.

University Challenge

Oh, BBC. You, who gave light to the world, you became blind.

Someone must have said this before.

What prompted me to write this blog was the latest 'scandal' with the BBC quiz University Challenge. (read more)
